Joe's Farm – Sokoban Remake
If you were a fan of the Sokoban puzzle game which was created by in 1981 by Hiroyuki Imabayashi, and was published in 1982 by Thinking Rabbit, then you are going to like the Joe’s Farm game. How come you ask? Why simply because Joe’s Farm is a remake of the classic Sokoban game.
If you played the Sokoban game, then you know what the goal is. If you haven’t let me clear things up for you: what you have to do is moved different objects around and place them in the marked positions. It may sound simple, but it really isn’t. You have to use your head and plan ahead if you want to place the objects in the right position.
The action in the game happens on Joe’s farm – where else, since the game is called Joe’s Farm. You are presented with various 3D farm surroundings while in the background soothing, relaxing music play. You will be listening to this music for some time if you want to complete the game – it has 100 levels in total. Of course, if you don’t like the music, you can always turn it off.
To play all the 100 levels you will have to part with your hard earned money and get a license. But before you do that you can play the game free of charge for an hour and see if it’s worth your money. Getting a license isn’t that expensive, but still, it’s better to try something before you buy it. To try Joe’s Farm you have to download the game (the download weighs in at 12.7MB) and install it on your Windows-powered computer (should work with just about any Windows version).
I’ve taken a look at quite a few Alawar Entertainment-published games so far and all of them offered to change your search provider and homepage to Ask.com – Joe’s Farm doesn’t which is good news. The bad news is that you still can’t select where the game will be installed, and you still can’t prevent the Alawar Games desktop shortcut from being created. Just like all the other Alawar Entertainment-published games I’ve looked at, this one offers to install Game Box, a catalog of all the games Alawar Entertainment has to offer.
